Who Are we?
Hey! We are Ben & Tyler, otherwise known as The Infrequent Flyers.
We are travel enthusiasts with full time jobs from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. We call ourselves ‘boujee backpackers’ (mid-budget travellers), ticking off bucket list destinations and activities, one trip at a time.
We have created a highly engaged community of likeminded individuals who also seek adventure. Our goal is to inspire others to make the most of their annual leave and explore the world. We do this by sharing inspiring photography and videography, helpful advice, informative tips and relatable content.
Between us we have now travelled to over 40 countries and can’t wait to share some of the best parts, tips, guides and tricks for these countries with you.
how did we meet?
As all good relationships start, we met at the local nightclub in Guernsey through some mutual friends. We knew from almost that day that we had a unique connection so much so a few days after we met, Tyler told her mum she was going to marry Ben, she was not wrong either.
The proposal & Wedding
The proposal takes us back to 2018 when we were on holiday in Banff, Canada. The proposal was a well mapped out plan by both Ben and Tracy (Tyler’s Mum) and would take place at the top of the picturesque Sulphur Mountain.
Ty did her best to scupper the plans suggesting to her parents that it was too expensive to go up the mountain whilst Ben was too busy focusing on breathing and trying not to shake. Ben being Ben never quite made it down to 1 knee and instead chose to hover above the ground, in favour of keeping his jeans dry (poor form from him).

The wedding followed 2 years later when we decided that the perfect venue would be Ben’s parents garden during the 2020 pandemic. We didn’t want to do things the normal way and instead chose to throw a surprise wedding with only our immediate families invited. Ben’s parents and Ty’s mum were the only people to know.
Following surprising our friends with a simple WhatsApp message, we hosted a friends and family BBQ in the same garden the following day. The money we saved on a big wedding was then put towards us having an extended honeymoon and the start of The Infrequent Flyers travelling the world.

travel
Travel was always at the top of our agenda as soon as we met. We took the extended honeymoon/sabbatical in 2022-2023 starting a mini world trip visiting Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and Canada.
We have visited over 40 countries between us and 21 together. We have plans for another sabbatical for further extended travels and can’t wait to share our adventures with you.
